The problem

Grease in the duct is a fire hazard, not ordinary dirt

In a hospitality kitchen, grease builds up in the hood, the filters and above all in the extraction duct, where you cannot see it. That grease layer is the leading cause of kitchen fires and the first thing your insurer asks about. Cleaning only the outside of the hood does not solve the real problem.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do you clean a hospitality kitchen hood?
Filters are removed, the duct is opened and industrial degreaser dissolves the grease. Then we clean the motor, grilles and stainless steel. The difference from cleaning it yourself is that we reach the inside of the duct, where the real risk sits.
What does hospitality hood cleaning cost?
A small cafe hood starts around EUR 120. A kitchen with several metres of duct is quoted individually after inspection, since the price depends on size and grease level. The quote is free and fixed.
How often should the extraction duct be cleaned?
It depends on kitchen volume. A kitchen that fries or grills a lot needs duct cleaning every 3 to 6 months. A quieter venue can extend it to once a year. We advise the right frequency during inspection.
Is cleaning the extraction duct mandatory?
Many fire insurers require periodic cleaning of the grease extraction system. Without it, a payout after a fire can be at risk. That is why we provide a dated cleaning certificate, exactly what your insurer and inspection ask for.
How do you remove grease from the hood?
With industrial degreasers and hot pressurised water on the filters, never with household products that do not dissolve baked-on grease. Duct grease needs technical access and specific tools, not just a cloth.
Does the kitchen have to close for the cleaning?
No. We work at night or outside your opening hours, so you open the next day with everything clean and without losing a day of revenue.
