Number of rooms, roughly the floor area, and how often. Photos help if anything particular is going on, because then we quote a figure rather than a range.

A fixed price per visit

By email, within two hours on working days. It sets out which rooms are weekly and which are monthly, so nothing shifts quietly later.

First visit is an introduction

The first one takes longer. We walk the house together and record what is included and what is not, including rooms that stay closed.

What we are straight about

A first visit to a home that has gone a long time without a thorough clean takes more time than the visits after it. We say so in advance and charge that first one separately, rather than quoting a low weekly rate and then leaving the house half done. We work with a fixed amount per visit rather than an hourly rate, because with an hourly rate you only learn the cost afterwards. The figure depends on floor area, how much is in the house and how often we come. Coming more often is cheaper per visit, because less has been left to build up.

Kitchen

Worktops, hob, splashback, the outside of appliances and the floor.

Bathroom and toilet

Sanitaryware, tiles, mirrors and taps, keeping limescale down before it sets.

Living room and bedrooms

Dusting, vacuuming and mopping, plus making beds if you want that.

Floors by material

Wood, laminate, tile or resin each get the product that belongs to them.

Periodic work

Inside windows, skirting, door frames and the inside of cupboards, scheduled rather than forgotten.

Oven, inside of the fridge, or ironing. Agreed separately and priced separately.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from hiring a cleaner privately?
With a private cleaner you are formally the employer. With us you are not: we handle wages, insurance and cover for illness. You pay a little more for that and carry no administration or liability at all.
Do I get the same cleaner every time?
That is the starting point and it is what makes recurring cleaning worth having. For illness or holidays we send a replacement, and we tell you beforehand rather than having somebody unfamiliar turn up unannounced.
Do I have to be home?
No. Many clients leave a key or a code. Put in writing the first time what happens when nobody is in, particularly about rooms that stay closed.
Do you bring your own products?
For deep cleans and end-of-tenancy work, yes. For regular cleaning most clients prefer we use what is already in the house, and we will say if something is not suitable for your floor.
Can I cancel whenever I want?
Yes. No annual contract and no months of notice. We only ask for a week so we can adjust your cleaner’s schedule.
Do you also do one-off cleans?
Yes, for instance before or after a move, after building work, or before visitors. That is a different rate from a regular visit, because it takes more time and often different equipment.
