What you need to start

Working as a cleaner through Claro Clean means working self-employed. It sounds harder than it is: this is what you need, and we help you on the call.

KvK registration as a zzp'er (done online in a few days)

Liability insurance in case something breaks

Cleaning experience, at home or with an employer

A VOG certificate of conduct, or willing to apply for one

A bike, public transport or car to reach customers in your region

Enough Dutch to make yourself understood

A smartphone with a camera: every job is recorded in photos

Honestly, up front

This is not a salaried vacancy but self-employed work: you invoice per job and arrange your own tax and insurance. Cleaning is hard work, standing and bending all the time, at a steady pace. We promise customers a spotless space, no excuses, so we ask that you are on time, tell us you are running late before the customer asks, and report a mistake straight away. Asking is always fine; keeping quiet is not. People who work like that get regular customers, and with them, certainty.

Homes for 2 to 4 hours. Most of the work and the easiest to plan.

Questions about working as a cleaner

Can I do this as a side job?

Yes. You set how many hours a week you want, even if it is only a few.

Do I need a diploma to become a cleaner?

No. Experience counts for more than paper. If you have never cleaned professionally, tell us what you have done.

I am not registered with the KvK yet. Can I still apply?

Yes. Apply and we explain on the call how to register. It needs to be done before your first job.

What will I earn?

It depends on the type of job and your region. We explain the fee on the call, before you take anything on.

Do I bring my own cleaning products?

For home cleaning the customer often has products; each job says what to bring.
