Will the musty smell go as well?
Much of the smell comes from the mould itself and from textiles that have absorbed moisture, so after removal and airing it usually improves a lot. If the smell sits in the structure, such as a damp crawl space, something will linger until that cause is dealt with.
What do you do with curtains and bedding?
Bedding, towels and curtains that can go in the wash we set aside so you or your caretaker can launder them. Mattresses, cushions and fixed upholstery we clean with our equipment. Anything too badly affected we honestly flag as needing replacement.
Do the electricity and heating need to be on?
We need power and water for the work, so switch those on or ask the caretaker to. Heating is not required, but a little warmth helps the rooms dry faster afterwards. Mention it in your request if something is not working.
