Can mould come off wallpaper without ruining it?
Sometimes, especially with vinyl wallpaper or paper with a washable top layer. Plain paper often keeps a stain or rings after cleaning, and if the mould sits underneath, it keeps coming back. We can usually tell the type from the video, and we say beforehand what to expect.
What happens to the paint?
Ordinary wall paint stays intact, but the spot may look slightly lighter or duller than the rest of the wall after cleaning. That is not damage, the paint is simply cleaner. If you want to repaint afterwards, ideally use a paint meant for humid rooms, and let the wall dry properly first.
What about mould on wooden window frames?
On varnished or painted wood we take the mould off with very little moisture and dry it immediately. If the wood is bare, soft or the varnish is loose, the mould may have got into the timber. Then it is a job for a painter or carpenter, and we tell you so honestly.
