Do I need to heat every room equally?
Not equally, but do not leave any room fully unheated in the cold months if people use it regularly. A low, steady setting in bedrooms and guest rooms stops the walls getting very cold. Keep the doors of cold rooms shut, so warm humid air does not drift into them.
Is switching the heating off at night bad for mould?
Fully off is usually not a good idea in a damp home, because the walls cool down considerably. A few degrees lower at night is fine. Combine it with an open vent in the bedroom, so the moisture from the night can escape.
Can I put something in front of the radiator?
Better not. A sofa, long curtains or a cupboard in front of the radiator traps the heat in one place, and the rest of the room and the walls warm up less. Leave some space around it, so the warm air circulates better through the whole room.
