Can I put ice cubes on gum myself?
Yes, in a plastic bag so the carpet stays dry. Wait until the gum is really hard and then break it off in small pieces. Do not pull, and certainly do not use a knife.
Why is there still a dark spot after removal?
Gum leaves fat and sugar in the fibre. That remnant attracts dirt and only really shows after a few days of walking, so it has to be dissolved and rinsed out separately.
Does trodden-in gum come out completely?
Often largely. If the fibres are already matted or damaged, the spot may look a little flatter than the rest, and we tell you so in advance rather than promising a perfect result.
