Can you refill the seat?
No, that is a job for an upholsterer and not something we do. We clean the covering. If you plan to have the filling replaced, it makes sense to have it reupholstered first and cleaned afterwards, so the new seat does not sit next to old fabric.
Why is the fabric in the hollow darker than the rest?
You sit exactly there every time, so sweat, crumbs and skin oil all meet in that spot. The dirt is also pushed deeper into the fibre. A pre-treatment brings most of it back, but an old discolouration can leave a trace.
Does the seat stay damp longer after cleaning?
A sunken seat dries a little slower than the rest of the chair. Open a window or run a fan, and only sit down once the fabric feels completely dry, even when you press your hand into the middle.
