Armchair cleaning in Deventer

Cleaning a designer shell armchair in Deventer is work with two materials at once. The shell is plastic, plywood or fibreglass, the seat or cushion is upholstered, and a product that suits the fabric does not automatically suit the shell.

What is included

  • Upholstered seat or fixed cushion cleaned with a suitable product
  • Plastic or wooden shell wiped separately and dry
  • Join between upholstery and shell kept free of moisture
  • Steel or wooden legs done without abrasive products
  • Checked beforehand whether the upholstery is fixed or removable

How we do it

We tape or cover the edge of the shell where the upholstery starts, so cleaner does not run onto the wood or lacquer. First we do the fabric, then the shell with a soft cloth and a neutral product, and finally the base.

What you get

A trained, insured and vetted specialist comes with their own equipment and eco-friendly products. They use nothing abrasive on the shell or legs. If you conclude within 48 hours that something is not right, we come and put it right.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know

Do the covers of my shell chair come off?
Sometimes, for example with Velcro or press studs, but by no means always. We check on the spot. Fixed upholstery we clean on the chair itself, and removable covers as well, so you run no risk of shrinkage.
Will scratches in the shell be removed too?
No. We clean the shell, but scratches, rings in lacquer or discoloured plastic remain. That needs polishing or repair, which is a different trade.
What product can I use on the shell myself?
A soft cloth with lukewarm water and a drop of mild washing-up liquid is usually enough. No scouring pad, alcohol or glass cleaner, as they can dull plastic or damage lacquer.
