Because some stains have changed the colour of the fibre itself. Then there is no dirt left to remove, only a discolouration. Anyone who promises otherwise goes at it with aggressive products and damages the fabric.
Does it matter what I already put on it myself?
Definitely. Bleach, chlorine or a strong stain remover may have stripped the colour, and a foaming product leaves residue. If we know what was used, we choose a product that will not react badly with it.
Will an old stain at least look lighter after cleaning?
In most cases yes, because the dirt caked around it goes. The spot then looks smaller and softer. If a shadow remains, we show it to you afterwards and explain why we stop there.
