Why does my cotton armchair lose colour?
Because the dye is not fully fixed in the fibre. You do not notice it in dry use, but water and heat release the colour. A test beforehand shows whether that is happening, and we then adjust the amount of moisture and the product.
Can the loose cotton cushion covers go in the washing machine?
Sometimes, but not without reading the label. A cover that shrinks or fades slightly in the machine no longer fits or ends up a different shade from the frame. That is why we clean the covers on the cushions, so everything keeps the same colour.
Will an old coffee stain come out of cotton?
A fresh coffee stain usually does. A stain that has been in cotton for years can leave a brown edge or discolouration that does not fully go. We treat it as far as the fabric allows and tell you honestly beforehand what to expect.
