Should I remove loose crumbs myself first?
A quick vacuum is nice but not necessary. Mainly take away larger scraps that could start to smell. We do the fine work under the cushion and in the seams with the nozzle before any water goes on.
How do I keep the chair clean if I eat in it anyway?
Use a tray with a raised edge and lay a washable throw over the front edge of the seat. Wipe greasy fingers before you grab the armrest, because that is exactly where snack grease soaks in first.
