Should I do some preparation myself?
Preferably not before the move. Whatever you clean while boxes and furniture are still going through the house is dirty again after moving day. The only useful preparation is emptying: fridge, cupboards and the last bin bags.
Why should the lights stay up?
Because an empty bathroom or hallway without light cannot be cleaned properly, especially late in the afternoon. Leave one light per room until we have finished, or put down a loose lamp you take away later.
Can I cancel the energy supply already?
Keep water and power on until after the clean. Without hot water degreasing is much harder and without power no vacuum works, and a cancellation that takes effect a day early cannot be reversed on the day itself.
