Why do I see streaks on my velour armchair after cleaning it myself?
Because the pile now lies in different directions. Light catches each direction differently, so it looks like staining when it is really fibres lying crooked. Setting the pile back in one direction usually removes it, as long as the fibre itself is not damaged.
Will crushed spots in velour look good again?
Pile that has been flattened by sitting is lifted with steam held at a distance and brushed up. That helps with recent pressure marks. Pile crushed or broken in the same place for years does not fully recover, and we tell you so beforehand.
Do I need to do anything with the pile after cleaning?
Let the armchair dry with nothing on it, because a cushion or throw presses the damp pile into a new shape. Once dry, you can go over the seat once with a soft clothes brush, following the direction of the pile.
