Does the fridge need to be completely empty?
Yes, otherwise we cannot reach the shelves and walls properly. Schedule the treatment just before you do the shopping, for example, so there is little to keep cool elsewhere. A cool bag with ice packs is fine for a few hours.
Should the fridge be switched off during treatment?
Not necessarily. With an almost empty fridge we often switch it off briefly so condensation does not get in the way, but we agree that on the day. Defrosting a freezer is a separate job that is better done the day before.
Will the fridge smell of the product afterwards?
That is exactly what we want to avoid. That is why everything is wiped over with clean water and the door is left open until dry. That way your food smells of food, not of what we used.
