Does disinfection remove the smell?
Only if the source was on a hard surface and we removed that source first. Disinfection itself is not odour removal. If the cause is in a textile or in a floor that has absorbed something, a different approach is needed and we tell you so in advance.
Why can I smell it when you see nothing?
A small trace in a floor joint, under a skirting board or on the underside of a chair is often invisible yet easy to smell. That is why we look low and in corners, and ask you to point out where the smell is strongest.
Can I put an air freshener down myself?
Preferably not in the first few days. An air freshener hides the smell and makes it harder to tell whether the source is really gone. Air the room well, and if you still notice the same smell after a few days, we know something is still there.
