Why no foam shampoo on fabric seats?
Because the product stays behind in the fabric. It feels clean at first, but the residue is slightly tacky and holds new dirt, so after a few weeks the seat looks greyer than before. Extraction with a rinse pass takes the product back out.
Does the fabric get too wet?
No. The machine sucks the water back while it sprays, so the fabric is left damp rather than wet. The foam underneath barely receives any water, which is exactly what you want in a car seat.
Will a hired machine give the same result?
Partly. A hire machine often has weaker suction, so more water stays in the seat and drying takes longer. If you do it yourself, use very little product and rinse afterwards with clean water.
