Yes, if the grate comes loose. Hair and soap residue hanging in the trap are the main cause of a musty smell, and rinsing over the grate does not remove them. A drain that is already blocked is a job for a plumber.
What can I do about scale on the glass between visits?
Squeegee the screen briefly after showering. It takes half a minute and saves most of the work, because scale only forms when the water dries. Your regular cleaner can recommend a squeegee if you do not have one yet.
Are descalers safe for my natural stone?
No, acid etches marble and limestone. That is why we ask at the first visit what your bathroom is made of. On natural stone we only use a neutral product and remove scale mechanically and patiently.
