Fabric verticals are vacuumed first with a soft brush, so the dust is out before any moisture goes near them; wetting without vacuuming makes mud. Aluminium and wooden slats get a lightly damp cloth, with wood dried off quickly to stop it warping. Pleated blinds are treated dry, because that fabric does not tolerate water.
