Why does my cellar smell musty even after cleaning?
Because the smell comes from damp rather than dirt. While the humidity stays high it returns. Clearing an air brick or running a dehumidifier does more than any clean.
Could there be mould on the walls?
In a cellar often, usually in the corners at floor level. We treat the surface, but if it is coming out of the wall it is a damp problem and treating it only postpones things.
Do you put things back on the floor?
We would rather not. In a cellar the floor is the coldest surface and where condensation forms. We suggest a pallet or a rack, and we are glad to put your things back on it if there is one.
