Because many covers shrink slightly or lose their shape in the wash, and a cover that no longer quite fits its cushion is hard to get back. Cleaning on the cushion keeps the cover exactly as it was.
Should I take the cushions off before you arrive?
No need, we do that. If you have spare covers or cushions that are not on the chairs but should be included, put them together beforehand so we do not overlook them.
Why do you treat both sides of a cushion?
Because people flip cushions, and then you immediately see a difference between the cleaned and the uncleaned side. Doing both sides keeps the cushion even, whichever way up it lies.
