Why does chenille pill after cleaning?
Usually from rubbing, for example with a sponge or stiff brush. The soft yarns then work loose and form little balls. We dab and work without pressure, so the yarns stay where they belong.
How do you get dirt out of corduroy grooves?
With a narrow, soft brush along the length of the wales and then vacuuming in the same direction. Working across the wales pushes dirt deeper into the groove and flattens the ridges.
Why does my corduroy chair look patchy after I cleaned it myself?
Because the wales reflect light differently where they have been pressed flat or got wet locally. Treating the whole panel and brushing the wales up after drying usually evens that out again.
