Why do I get a ring when I scrub a stain myself?
Water dissolves dirt and carries it to the edge of the wet patch. It dries there and stays behind as a brown line. The wetter you make the spot, the clearer that edge becomes.
Does a ring always come out?
Often, but not always. If a product has affected the colour of the fabric, that is no longer dirt but discolouration, and we cannot bring it back. We usually see that on your video already.
What should I do instead with a fresh stain?
Blot with a dry, white cloth from the outside in and stop there. No water, no soap and no rubbing. The less you do to it, the better we can get the stain out later.
