Why does microfibre go hard after a damp cloth?
Because tap water and many household products leave residue between the fine fibres. As it dries those fibres stick together, the spot feels stiff and looks darker. Brushing up sometimes helps, a proper treatment helps more.
Do flattened seat areas look good again?
Areas flattened by pressure can spring back somewhat after brushing. If the surface is genuinely worn, that is wear and not dirt, and cleaning does not change it. We tell you that honestly beforehand.
How do I keep microfibre clean afterwards?
Vacuum the sofa regularly with a soft brush and blot spilt drinks straight away with a dry white cloth instead of rubbing. Avoid wet wipes and all-purpose cleaners, because they leave exactly the residue that makes the fabric hard.
