Which fabric dries fastest?
Synthetic fabric such as polyester, because the fibre itself barely absorbs water. Wool and cotton hold moisture inside the fibre and take longer. The thickness of the filling also plays a part.
Can I sit on a damp sofa?
Preferably not until it feels dry. Pressure on a damp seat pushes water into the filling and can leave an imprint or ring. Wait until the fabric is dry, and lay a clean towel over it if you really have to sit.
How do I know the sofa is completely dry?
Press firmly on the seat and seams with a dry hand. If it feels cool or damp, there is still water in the filling. Only when the seams feel dry too is the sofa ready for use.
