Will dark armrests go as light as the rest again?
They usually come back a good way. If the oil has sat for years, the fibre itself may have discoloured or worn, and no clean removes that. What is dirt comes out, what is wear stays visible, and we show you that difference beforehand.
Why does the armrest feel stiff?
Skin oil and sweat salts dry in the fibre and glue it together. That makes the fabric feel hard and look shiny. Once the oil is out and the fibre brushed, it softens again, although that also depends on how worn the fabric already was.
Can I keep armrests up myself in between?
An arm cap or a throw over the armrest catches most of it and simply goes in the wash. Wiping with a lightly damp microfibre cloth helps too. Avoid all-purpose cleaners, as they leave residue that oil clings to.
