Does hairspray or alcohol help on ballpoint?
It dissolves ink, but it often dissolves the colour or finish of the fabric too, and hairspray also leaves a sticky layer. It can go well on a test spot and wrong on the seat. Better to leave the line alone until we arrive.
Does ink come out of a light fabric too?
A fresh ballpoint line usually comes out well. Older ink, or ink that has already been rubbed, sometimes leaves a faint shadow, especially on light fabric. We tell you that beforehand, once we have seen how the ink reacts.
Why no machine on an ink stain?
Water and pressure spread oily ink instead of lifting it. With a cloth we control where the ink goes. The machine only comes in once the ink is out, to even up the rest of the cushion.
