Can chenille shed after cleaning?
Loose tufts that were already half detached can come away, and you then see them in the nozzle. The yarn itself stays intact as long as nobody scrubs hard. A sofa that already pills keeps that, even after a treatment.
Does chenille shrink?
Chenille with a natural base can shrink if it gets soaked. That is why we keep the wetting limited and pull the moisture back out straight away. The shrink test beforehand shows how careful we need to be.
Why does chenille sometimes look patchy after a clean?
Because the soft yarn can settle in different directions after moisture. That is not dirt but the way light falls. Once the fabric is dry and you run your hand over it, it usually evens out.
