Why does pale bouclé turn grey so quickly?
The open loop structure holds fine dust and skin oil, and on a light colour you see that sooner than on a dark one. So it is usually not discolouration of the fabric itself but dirt sitting between the loops, which comes loose again with the right approach.
Can I snip off a bit of fluff on bouclé myself?
Better not without thinking. A protruding loop is often still attached to the rest, and cutting it can make the weave run further. We do not repair upholstery, so if in doubt an upholsterer is the right person to look at it.
Does bouclé go soft again after cleaning?
Yes, once everything is fully dry. While drying the loops can feel a little stiffer. Once dry and back in use, the fabric regains its soft, full feel.
