Carpet cleaning in Bussum
With an antique or hand-knotted rug, cleaning is a judgement rather than a routine job. The dye may be natural, the foundation may have gone brittle, and the value sits in exactly the things a wet treatment can damage.
What is included
- An assessment of age, knotting and dye
- A colourfastness test on each colour separately
- Dry working where wet is too risky
- Fringes by hand, never by machine
- A referral to a rug washing house where that is better
How we do it
On a hand-knotted rug we test each colour separately, because a red weft can bleed while the rest is stable. One unstable colour makes a wet treatment impossible however well the others behave.
What you get
Our people are insured and vetted and refer you to a specialist rug washing house where that is better. On a rug with value, the wrong treatment costs more than the cleaning ever could.
