Window frames are the hardest part after building work, because sanding dust settles into the rebate where no cloth reaches. As long as that dust is there it loosens every time the window opens and lands on the sill again the next day.

What are drainage holes?
Small openings at the bottom of the frame through which condensation and rainwater drain. Blocked with construction dust, water stands in the frame and you only notice when there is a pool on the sill.
Why does my window sill stay dusty?
Usually because dust is still in the rebate. It loosens each time the window opens and settles on the sill, and you keep wiping until the rebate itself is empty.
Do you clean the locking gear too?
Cleaning yes, adjusting no. A window that binds or does not close properly after the works is a matter for your window supplier, and we report it rather than adjusting it.
