Will the shiny pressure marks on my velvet chair go?
Sometimes partly. By brushing and light misting we lift flattened pile. If the pile is truly worn or has been crushed in the same spot for years, a difference stays visible.
Why do I see light and dark bands in velvet?
That comes from the direction of the pile. Pile lying one way catches light differently from pile lying the other way. It is not dirt, and we brush it in one direction afterwards.
May I get a stain out of velvet with water myself?
Better not. Water on one spot often leaves a ring on velvet and the pile dries twisted. Blot a fresh stain with a dry cloth and leave the rest to us.
