Can I have just the chair done and not the footstool?
You can, but bear in mind that a cleaned chair next to an uncleaned footstool in the same fabric or leather often looks noticeably different. Doing them together gives the most even result.
Why is there a dark patch in the middle of the footstool?
That is where your heels rest, often in socks or slippers. They leave grease and dirt in exactly the same place. We treat that patch separately before doing the rest of the footstool.
